We’re proud to welcome Dr. Kevin L. Craney to Ambulatory Foot & Ankle Center. With extensive experience in podiatric medicine and a commitment to patient-centered care, Dr. Craney brings both skill and compassion to our team. His dedication to helping patients restore mobility and live pain-free makes him a valuable addition to AFAC.
Dr. Craney is a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana who graduated with a bachelor degree in Business Administration from Saint Joseph’s College of Indiana as the recipient of the prestigious Thomas J. Huhn Athletic Leadership Scholarship. After graduation, he worked in the financial field for multiple years before ultimately following the call to practice medicine. He completed post-baccalaureate studies at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (now Purdue University of Fort Wayne) and was later accepted into Des Moines University. There, he completed a dual-degree program to earn his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine and Master of Healthcare Administration.
After graduation, he completed a three-year residency at Geisinger Community Medical Center of Scranton, Pennsylvania. During this time, he was honored as the program’s Resident of the Year as a second-year resident and later served as chief resident. Dr. Craney’s surgical training included exhaustive exposure to all aspects of foot and ankle care including: trauma, reconstruction, sports medicine, minimally invasive surgery (MIS), wound care, diabetic foot care, pediatrics, and many other facets of podiatric surgery. He also completed a rotation at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Craney is board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the Virginia Podiatric Medical Association. He enjoys utilizing practicing evidence-based medicine and utilizing advanced treatments for surgical and nonsurgical management of foot and ankle issues.
Beyond his passion for patient care, Dr. Craney enjoys traveling, sports, music, cooking, and grilling.
